1.0 out of 5 stars The DS is so much more capable... 18 July 2006
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
i was so excited to get this game after i saw it on PSP, let alone i was so glad it was also on DS. once i turned it on. the main menu was so dull. after this tragic part, i got on a single event and that was called "road rage". one of my favourates. but, as it began. i was utter dissapointed. the racing is so slow. and getting a car to crash is so back breakingly annoying!!! the only thing EA has done well with this game is a good variety of options. the thing is, it's not even a burnout game! EA have not used the DS's power properly.

in all, burnout for DS is just another crap game made from a company who doesn't give a damn about nintendo and the DS. its a game with fewer cars and bigger pixles.

o'h god. this is depressing...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 19 Dec 2005
I had so much enthuisiasm for this game before its release having loved the XBOX version and I couldn't wait to play this game on the move...
I realised that in going onto the DS some aspects would be cut, for example, the graphics...
As it happens, the graphics are pretty good for the DS, but its not the graphics that are the problem.
The problem is the control...it seems to miss an analog controller and control of the car is somewhat...jerky - despite the graphics seeming smooth enough.
Other differences lessen the experience, for example...powerslides (an aspect of the Burnout games that I've always found easy) are now virtually impossible to pull off. Shame you need them so often...
These control issues take one of the smoothest, slickest, fastest and most enjoyable games to play and take the fun out of it.
Don't recommend it, to be honest.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Xbox versions 27 May 2006
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I love the Burnout series and have had all 4 of the games on my Xbox, so on buying my DS and finding you could get this game, I was estatic.

But, sadly, that feeling didn't last.

It is really difficult to control your car and to be honest, instead of being a mix of the best bits, it's more like a mish mash of, well, everything really.

I wouldn't reccommend buying Burnout for DS,

however, for Xbox, it is fantastic.

I shall be sticking to my Xbox to play Burnout, that's for sure!

1.0 out of 5 stars PSP VERSION ROCKS BETTER 6 Jan 2012
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
When I first purchased this game, I thought it would be a lot of fun which it was at first but after a while I slowly hated it as the graphics were cheap and nasty, the controls were un-responsive at times, trying to do a takedown was especially tricky, the crash mode was boring, the crashes lacked excitement, the crashbreakers were rubbish and the music got on your nerves after a while. This is a bad game even by DS standards. When I got a PSP for my birthday last year in 2011, I got the PSP version in a sale and loved it way better then the crappy DS version as the graphics were better, the controls were more responsive, doing a takedown was easy, the crashes and explosions in crash mode looked better, it had more stuff for you to do and it combined the best songs from Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge for the soundtrack. It can be hard at times but it's easier and more fun than the DS version as it brought back the Burnout magic I had grown to love from the series. AVOID THE DS VERSION AND BUY THE PSP VERSION AS IT ROCKS A MILLION TIMES BETTER
