Within five minutes of use we had to replace belt. It has too many gadgets on it which are just cumbersome and do not pick up.The spring at the bottom to rotate the lower wheel kept coming off and was dreadfully hard to put back. It did not pick up well at all and ended up blowing out more dirt than removing. Wouldnt touch it with a barge pole and ended up buying a simple panasonic vacuum that looks like a vacuum and not a space ship and cleans wonderfully.

This cleaner emits clouds of dust from its vents. HEPA filtered? Apparently not. Either the unit I received is faulty or the design is poor. Out of the box, you spend half an hour assembling it, with a screwdriver - no click together parts here. Initially in use, it seems fine. Then the filters get clogged. You end up having to dismantle it every couple of uses to clean all the filters. It runs hot too - the 2kW (what happened to energy efficiency Electrolux?) is needed to suck the air around the very long air path (which includes the entire length of the hose as standard). I've returned mine as defective as I cannot believe it is supposed to be like this. Avoid.

We have had this Vacuum Cleaner for less than a year and it has caused problem after problem for us. First the dial on the front broke, meaning it would only be usable effectively on laminate floors which is fair enough, only we have carpeted stairs and upstairs and rugs on the laminates downstairs. Then the fanbelt kept breaking. So we would replace it, and it would break. Then replace it again. We have spent more on these rubber belts than we originally paid for the vacuum cleaner!

It is rubbish to steer as well, very hard to reach into corners and the pipe needs to be longer. Heavy and cumbersome on the stairs and worse of all the noise is deafening.

Now it just doesnt suck anything up at all, I'm constandtly fighting with the filters and fanbelts and it is always blowing large clouds of dust out when I turn it on, creating even more mess.

    Don't bother with it. I'm buying a Dyson DC25.

I feel it is my public duty to advise you to stay away from this machine. It frequently clogs up, overheats, cuts out and emits clouds of dust. Electrolux customer services advise that you must clean the filters every time you use it. The sponge filter takes 24 hours to then dry naturally before you can put it back in and use the vacuum again. I got heartily fed up of handwashing a grotty filter every couple of days and finding it out of action because the filter was drying. When my machine started to smell of smoke this week I arranged to have it taken away. I found it not fit for purpose. I have a lovely Dyson arriving tomorrowElectrolux Z8800AZ Power of Red Pet Cyclonic Upright Vacuum Cleaner, 2000W....

The worst vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. Melts carpets, even when it's moving. Would advice never to leave this stationary when powered up on your carpets or wooden floors, it gets too hot to use. Always covered in dust, mainly from the dust it picks up. If a friend has one you really have to see the amount of dust the thing spits out when you first turn it on, it's unbelievable. And then, of course, do them the favour and throw it in a bin. Will never buy another vacuum cleaner from Electrolux again. This item destroys carpets. I'd sooner pick dirt up with my fingers over my entire house than use this horrible machine.

A powerful, well-made, relatively quiet, and very efficient cleaner. We experienced no difficulties in its assembly (all of 4 screws!), and all accessories work well; if all else fails, read the instructions - there aren't many, and they're quite clear. I find it hard to understand or agree with some of the adverse comments in the other reviews; having used several other makes, including Dyson and Hoover (all of which have their good points), we find this Electrolux excellent value and unhesitatingly recommend it.

This is the worst Vaccum cleaner I have ever owned. I would advise against anyone buying it. It fails to lift dust or dirt properly - more often than not, the hose gets clogged and we have to use a screw driver to open it and clear it out. The tools fall off all the time (sounds minor complaint, but really annoying after few times). The power paw attachment stopped working within few months after purchase; and generally had very poor suction to begin with. DON'T BUY IT!
