Yes, every morning she was there on the stair, right there. With her little stiff brush and metal dustpan, briskly brushing and collecting, grunting as she came down each step. Now this electric dustpan and brush, sixty years later, does the job in no time. My new best friend in a house with six flights of stairs many with wonky angles and dust traps. Some of the 'risers' had never been vacuumed I fear as Mr Dyson clearly lives in a bungalow, when you try to use his stiff awkwardly made connections they get knocked off all the time. Grr!
This machine sounds like a loud hair dryer and does leave your ears ringing a bit after a monster session so that's why only 4 stars. It also gets quite hot which I know my grandmother did too...
However I think it is as good as you might hope to get and will inspire far more frequent stair and car cleaning. The long orange lead, robust shockproof plug and crevice attachment are bright and visible. The flip up plastic rizor (sic) arrangement means you can vacuum the riser from the same hand held direct facing position. Emptying it is best done outside after having licked a finger to find which way the wind is blowing. Give the filter a good whack about to dislodge the fur and clingy dust and then snap on the box once more. You'll be ready for the off to sort out the Volcano ash particles when they arrive!
