This was more hard work than I thought it would be. The 342 page volume contains a strange miscellany of inventions and strange ideas people have had over the centuries. I cannot describe it as essential reading since it doesn't add much to the sum total of knowledge but if you want a few idle moments filled with entertainment or perhaps some bedtime reading then this would be the answer. It will probably make the most boring train ride of your life somewhat less boring. That is all I can say.
