First let me point it out that i'm a little bit Biased to anything Chris Standring doe's why is that?, because he's simply quality with a capitol Q!!. I have enjoyed listening to his stuff for around 10 years and I never get tired of it. This new album is in my opinion his best work yet there are no fillers on Electric Wonderland its all prime cuts. If you listen to Jazz FM you'll probably already know the single off of this album the catchy "Oliver's Twist" so you in a way know what your going to get.
I hope this send Chris onto a different level of fan base , he sure deserves it, go on do yourself a favour if you like good wholesome foot tapping smooth Jazz, I cannot think of a better album to introduce you to his work, go get it!!!!
Stand out tracks are the excellent "Escapade" and the slush romantic Last Track "Nightingale's Bridge", please come up to Manchester again Chris theers life beyond London !!!

I was delighted to buy this album at one of Chris' recent UK shows, and have to say, that it's an excellent piece of work all round. The CD contains a range of uptempo numbers,notably the totally infectious Olivers Twist, which is impossible to stand still to while listening.( Check out the excellent YouTube video)Also some lovely jazzy mid tempo numbers,all of which bring Chris' talents to the forefront.
If you like jazz guitar, you will love this album, BUY IT!!

An amazing and dreamy sound

Chris Standring has with this album made the summer. A cool, relaxed sound and feel to all the songs. I'm amazed how he can make a guitar express a mood like this. Almost September is a really summery song that makes me think of a warm sunny day with a cool beer or a soft drink with ice. It is also a cruiser song along with Pandora's Box. For the guitar interested the album is available as play-along as well, that I can recommend, as I try to do just that, but its very funny. I listen to a lot of artists like Peter White, Norman Brown, Dwight Sills, Brian Simpson and Jonathan Fritzén, Chris Standring is top notch to me.

Another excellent musical journey

We were first introduced to Chris with "Blue Bolero" a great album and decided to try "Electric Wonderland". We are again enjoying a different side of his music. He creates wonderful pictures with his sound and I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys beautiful flowing jazz.

I first heard Chris Standring on an email ad for Spaghettini's in Seal Beach. I listened to his music and was immediately hooked. This latest album of his is fantastic. I saw the video for 'Oliver Twist' off the Electric Wonderland album and was blown away. I watch it every day. Couldn't wait for the album release. If you like smooth jazz guitar music(and I do) he is one of the best. His Blue Bolero was amazing, but Electric Wonderland transcends. And as Oliver said in Oliver Twist "More, Please." Can't wait for his next album, they just keep getting better.
