I got this as I'd run out of things to read with my teenage children.
It is essentially a collection of logic puzzles which need a bit of lateral thinking to figure out (logic rather than maths - there are no questions about trains heading towards each other at varying speeds, fellow maths-phobes will be glad to know). And for each one, there's a nice succinct explanation as to how you can quickly prove each one, some of which are startlingly clever.
It is also strung together by a collection of entertaining characters and stories, and written in a sparkily engaging humourous style. My boys love it and are notably better at figuring them out than me.
Warmly recommended.

I bought this as I was looking for something a bit different to keep me occupied while travelling to work and back each - and this book achieves that object completely. Extremely funny (often laugh out loud) and very well written. The plot and characters are great and really bring the puzzles to life. The puzzles themselves range from the easy to the criminally hard and are brilliant for retelling.

Really funny characters and stories. Problems range from the nearly easy to the insane. Hints are useful, particularly on the trickier ones. No idea about the final puzzle but it's definitely getting my brain back into gear. A brilliant present.
