Biographyby Jason Ankeny

The Electric Light Orchestra's ambitious yet irresistible fusion of Beatlesque pop, classical arrangements, and futuristic iconography rocketed the group to massive commercial success throughout the 1970s. 4.0 out of 5 stars ELO Part Two 29 Sep 2010
Format:Audio CD
First of all let me say this is my opinion and I will be as constructive as possible with review.Major hurdle for die hand fans is Jeff Lynne is not singing or playing on album and in fact had nothing to do with album could this be the reason for one star reviews with comments like rubbish, awful, avoid.mmmmmm?
I have a large collection of all ELO studio albums and they are one of my favourite bands.I own this album and trust me this is simply not fair to give one star.
The musical content has maintained a lot of the original ELO type sound and the guys in the band have put out a really good album here.If your willing to get passed the absence of Mr Lynne and listen to the album for what it is you will be surprised. The follow up album Moment Of Truth is fantastic and is a five star album.
Guys you might be shocked when I say I prefer both these albums by far over Zoom which I thought was extremely poor and not a great album by any means but guess what there are people who think its brill and give five stars that is there opinion.
Give both the ELO Part Two studio albums a listen and if you judge them on musical content you will be pleasantly surprised.
Hope review is of some help.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok album by great musicians 26 Mar 2014
Format:Audio CD
The biggest mistake Bev Bevan did was call this group ELO part 2.The name ELO without the BRILLIANT Jeff lynne is just wrong. Jeff Lynne is so missed on this album that its a crime against humanity. If Bev had called this group THE BEV BEVAN BAND, this would have worked for him. I saw ELO part 2 live a few times, although great musicians, that's why I gave 3 stars for respect for these musicians. It was just not the same without Jeff Lynne leading the group. As far as im concerned the name ELO belongs to Jeff Lynne, who is the most gifted musician/producer ever to come out of the UK, and that is a huge statement. When Jeff Lynne released ZOOM by the name ELO it just killed off anything ever done by ELO part 2.Sorry Bev but THE BEV BEVAN BAND is what you should have called your group.

3.0 out of 5 stars ELO Part 2 30 Nov 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This album was a new start for ELO. Bev Bevan had found them a new sound and started putting new tracks together. He then recruited some of the original members of ELO to go out for the live shows.
This album rocks although the first track Hello is a bit of dodgy cheese. Listen to the power of honest men which kicks arse through to Easy Street which heads will rock to. This album knocks the socks of Jeff's previous attempt at an ELO album Balance Of Power.
