One Awesome Guitar Book

Alan Ratcliffe has written a great book about electric guitars. He covers a condensed history and notable milestones in the electric guitar industry, as well as guitar basics such as construction types, materials, tuning and care and maintenance. From there he works through accessories and amplifiers as well as other areas. One of the most interesting sections is the "Legends" section where several of the most influential and / or unique guitar players who helped shape the way electric guitar has been integrated into music today. Now, these include some recommended "essential" listening of their work and the bio's include some interesting tidbit of information about each one. All of the information in the book is presented in an easy to read and understand format. The pages are clean and not cluttered, with great color pictures. All in all this is one of the better "guitar handbooks" I have in my collection.
