CD Description

Brought up in Mississippi, where he was born near Indianola on September 16th, 1925, Riley B King went on to become one of the blues' most influential guitarists and songwriters. His appeal was to white and black alike, while his albums were being nominated for Grammies half a Century after his recording debut. By C. FULLER TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
The legendary BB, born 1925, is here presented in recordings dating from 1951 to 1958, 2 great albums and bonus tracks. The 32 tracks are from his formative and highly successful years. He is still touring today and has no plans to retire.

In the 1950s, B.B. King became one of the most important names in R&B music, amassing an impressive list of hits including "You Know I Love You," "Woke Up This Morning," "Please Love Me," "When My Heart Beats like a Hammer," "Whole Lotta Love," "You Upset Me Baby," "Every Day I Have the Blues," "Sneakin' Around," "Ten Long Years," "Bad Luck," "Sweet Little Angel," "On My Word of Honor," and "Please Accept My Love." Many of these well remembered and much admired performances are included here. In 2009, Time Magazine named B.B. King #3 on its list of the 10 best electric guitarists of all-time.

The sound quality is excellent and the recordings have that unique urgency that the Memphis blues is known for the world over. The compilation is by Glenn Gretlund and the liner notes from Michael Heatley. This release will certainly please BB fans and those wishing to obtain these recordings for a budget price. Look out for more CD releases from "Not Now Music"
