An exemplary study! 13 Jun. 2001

Format: Paperback
This is a wonderful book that discusses not only Eleanor, but the institution of queenship in medieval England. Parsons is a master at looking at a subject from a variety of disciplinary approaches and angles. Readers should be warned it presumes a thorough knowledge of thirteenth-century European politics, though.

The book was not what I was hoping for, while it had many good points, for me it lacked the intimate side of Eleanor, most of what I read in this book was information already out, looking for a fresh prospective.
However I am grateful to all the men and women who research the history and write about them. It is not easy to go back thousands of years and find true or accurate information that is not one sided.
