BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid (NEW CD+DVD) (Audio CD)
This album is an absolute pleasure to listen to and I never tire of it. The BBC orchestra with BBC radio 3's choir of the year, Chantage, make this album nothing short of incredible. Guy Garvey's voice is a joy to listen to and I dare anyone to listen to 'One Day Like This' and not have a tear in their eye by the end of it. This album introduced me to Elbow and they are, in my opinion, one of the best British bands in a long time. If you like this then spare a moment to look at I Am Kloot's album 'Sky At Night' which was produced by Garvey. If you are contemplating buying this album then don't waste any time......buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Great Group,
This review is from: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid (NEW CD+DVD) (Audio CD)
I first saw this concert on TV late one night and knew I just had to have my own copy. It has exceeded my expectations. They are a great group and it is a pity we do not see more of them in Australia.

Album of the decade,
By S. MCCARTNEY - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid (NEW CD+DVD) (Audio CD)
The Album is that good! Even before the addition of the BBC Concert Orchestra and Chantage, the Choir an amazing album on its own. Some absolutely haunting performances and shows that Guy Garvey and the band have at last got the recognition that has eluded them for so long. You will not be disapointed.

Absolutely Brilliant,
By David J. Marsh "TeacherBear2" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid (NEW CD+DVD) (Audio CD)
Elbow deserves more recognition in this country, and is beginning to be more popular. If you have seen some of the commercials for House or NCIS this fall, "Grounds for Divorce" is the theme song they are playing. This album is a true classic in every sense -- Guy Garvey is brilliant, his vocals are at once haunting and emotional and thrilling. The orchestra adds to the mix, but the album without the orchestra and chorus is just as good. I have all of their work so far, and am looking forward to their new album this fall. This is by far my favorite group and that is saying a lot, as I have been around a long while and have listened to thousands of bands over the years.

Seldom Seen Kid,
By Peter Sedgwick - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid (NEW CD+DVD) (Audio CD)
I'd never heard of Elbow until I saw "One Day Like This" on TV one Sunday afternoon. It was the final number in the Abbey Road set (I'd missed the earlier part of the coverage) and instantly liked it. On the strength of one hearing I took the gamble to buy the CD/DVD and now it's easily my best musical pick up of 2009. One of my all time favourites is Split Enz and the NZ Symphony Orchestra and although Elbow's work was all new to me I quickly came to appreciate the clever matching of their interesting lyrics and imaginative vocals with the brilliance of the BBC Concert Orchestra and Choir. Tender, evocative and at times amusing with enough orchestral and choral highlights to make you misty eyed. Bravo.
