Carefully crafted using traditional methods, Herradura is produced and estate bottled in the heart of Mexico's tequila region, using locally grown, high quality 100% blue agave. Aged for 11 months in virgin american white oak barrels to give a light golden colour with vanilla and cinnamon notes on the finish.
Tequila Herradura was founded in 1870 by Feliciano Romo, who established the location of the estate in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains – where Feliciano stumbled across a ray of light shimmering from a horseshoe on the ground – he sought to establish his dream based on this fortuitous find and named the brand Herradura, Spanish for ‘Horseshoe’.
Located and produced in the tiny town of Amatitán, in the heart of tequila region, near Tequila Mountain, about 40 minutes from Guadalajara. Herradura Tequila is made from the finest blue agave, with an unrivalled patience and meticulous care. 100% blue agave, all- natural, estate grown and estate bottled.
Reposado, means “rested”. This distinctive tasting reposado has unique flavours of vanilla, dried fruit and cooked agave. Aged for 11 months (9 more than the category standards) which gives this tequila its deep colour. A full, thick and silky body. Aroma: baked agave, clear cinnamon and vanilla notes and definitely wood smooth feel, floral aroma, and creamy oak finish. Taste: confirms cooked agave and balanced wood, vanilla and cinnamon notes.
Hacienda fizz (long serve): 50ml Herradura Reposado, 20ml lemon juice, 15ml orgeat, 20ml egg white. Top with soda, shake & strain and serve in a hi-ball with cubed ice. No garnish. The Herradura Spritz is light, refreshing and very simple: 20ml Herradura Plata, 5 mint leaves, 50ml White Wine, top with Grapefruit Soda. Or try a Chocolate & Chilli Old Fashioned with 50ml Herradura Reposado, 2 dashes chocolate bitters, 2 dashes jalapeño shrub bitters, build & stir. Serve in a rocks glass over cubed ice.
