Disappointing? Disappointing is not the word!!! You'll see: there is not band, there's no tour... so... MEET THE SUPPPORTERS!!!!

First of all: I love EN, I really do. And I do enjoy documentaries.
But, here, we have a major problem, this DVD SHOULD BE LABELED: "A TALK WITH THE SUPPORTERS" or "MEET THE SUPPORTERS THEMSELVES" because this is what it is.
If you expect to see the band on the road, or the band on the stage, or talking (about their music for example), this is not your lucky day. Wait for the "future concert documentaries", or become a supporter yourself and -at least- SEE YOURSELF on the screen. You will find more material of the band in the web site than in the DVD!!
Here you have a synopsis: people (supporters of the band) from everywhere talking about themselves as supporters (it's amazing, now I know). More people, ten minutes of people talking. Then, the band ON STAGE! FIVE SECONDS! Lots of more people, etc. etc. THE BAND AGAIN, TEN SECONDS, FIVE SECONDS, TWENTY SECONDS! And again people, more people. Supporters talking about reality TV... please! I don't care what you think of "The Bachelor", for example. Sorry, but I don't mind what you think about Mr. Bargeld, LET ME SEE HIM PLAY.
Finally, when you're thinking this is an extra feature -or a bad joke- and the main is about to begin, surprise, ONE SONG LIVE, ON STAGE, ONLY ONE. And that's it.
Again the people talking and talking, don't you think is enough?
At the end of the feature, two more songs, as soundtracks (for different footage, stills and end credits!).
Inside the documentary someone talks about the music industry's rules and regulations. Well, the only name on the sleeve is a BIG LIE. Do you have something to say about this?

This is definitely not the stereotyp band documentary - it is about something quite different - the state of mind of one of the most legendary bands in Germany -proving how individual they actually are - this is a documentary on how a band can affect people beyond only listening to their music,buying their t-shirts or seeing them at a live gig, how new ideas can change private lives or the industry and set examples for other artists, how inspiring it can be if anonymous fans turn into individual supporters.
Anybody that only wants to see the band perform shouldn't buy this DVD -this is about more -besides the beautiful extras with an exclusive interview with NU Unruh explaining his instruments, tour fotos and Blixa on stage,the many tour scenes of the band - the enthusiasm of the interviews and the comments of the band on how the tour 2004 was changed by their avant gard experiment is fascinating for any artist, musician or free thinking person in general.
It is not a documentary on something going wrong or some horrifying event for a change -it is something one encounters rarely -the courageous step of trying out a new form of being independant in a positive , creative way.
The linar notes by Foetus and Henry Rollins saying how much they appreciate EN and this DVD are another very enjoyable part of the product.

The legendary German band Einstürzende Neubauten, known since the 80ies for their uncompromising approach to music has come up with a yet another groundbreaking project once more far ahead of its times, enabling them to work on their endeavors without needing to bow to the music industries rules and regulations. What an impact this cheeky use of modern technology has had on the band, their fans and the music industry is portrayed in the Documentary Einstürzende Neubauten - On tour with neubauten.org" by Danielle de Picciotto.
Danielle de Picciotto, an American artist living in Berlin since the fall of the wall, has influenced Berlins cultural scene since 1985 in many ways as the co - innovator of the "Love Parade", the "Ocean Club" with Gudrun Gut and "Kunst oder König" the club -cultural exhibition series presenting Berlins creative cross culture internationally. Also an active member of Berlins music scene (former singer of the "Space Cowboys") she has known Einstürzende Neubauten personally for almost twenty years, following their development with interest.
After becoming member of their new project "Neubauten.org" in 2003 she was asked to document the ensuing tour in 2004 by Blixa Bargeld, singer of the band, to provide material for future concert documentaries. Besides filming every show she interviewed countless "supporters" worldwide ending up with this documentary - a courageous example of on how following an individual, courageous path can change people's lives worldwide.
