Review

"I have a sentimental fondness for how heat emanates from the sun..." - Gine Segre

Product Description

Using the history and study of temperature as a guide, the author explores where science has taken us and where it is leading us. This is a book about the questions in science that arise from thinking about what temperature means and how it is measured. It is also a book about the people who have worked and are continuing to work on these questions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Science+Humanism, 9 July 2009

(REAL NAME)
This is a great book which I've read under the different title "A Matter of Degrees". I liked it very much so I bought another book by Gino Segre -"Einstein's Refrigerator"- which is exactly the same book from the same publisher, Penguin. I find such misleading practices of repackaging by such a famous publisher to be reprehensible.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very little information on the subject, 22 Aug 2010
By I.T. Guy "Mikey" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Einstein's Refrigerator: Tales of the Hot and Cold (Hardcover)
This book is using the title as a bait. It actually devotes about two pages to the subject, that is all.
So, if you think this book is what you have been looking for (yes, I know what it is), then it isn't.
