Sir E A Wallis Budge was Keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries and in this fascinating hardback book, which is very reader friendly and has delightful illustrations throughout, he sets forth clearly and interestingly the complex ideas about the afterlife permeating Ancient Egyptian culture. Surely a must have reference work for any Ancient Egypto-phile's bookshelf!
