Firstly the video had been put directly on to DVD so there was no menu or any way to navigate through without the fast forward button. The background and lighting were dull and it was hard to see the movements. The dancing would have been good live but was useless as an instructional production. I had expected direction in the way of "now hip drops, now figure eight etc" so that you could dance along. This was not the case - the voice over was commenting rather than instructing. The section where there was instruction with the zills would have at least been useful to learn but they had dubbed the voice on top of the sound of the cymbals so you could only follow the words and the silent movement of her fingers. Even if there had been different types of dances, music, costumes etc it would have been fun to watch as a performance DVD but it was visually very similar the whole way through.

This is quite a good video with some good music, but there is hardly any instruction and if this was used as an instructional video it would probably leave you totally confused!!!! and when she does speak you can hardly hear her and sounds a bit droll. This is a great video to watch, but the instuctional side is almost non-existant which makes it a real shame compared to her other videos....

I bought this DVD as I already had a basic belly dancing DVD and I wanted to learn some more advanced moves. What a disappointment! The fact that the dancer's legs were obscured by a skirt and her stomach partly covered by the tassels on her costume made copying her movements difficult. This was not helped by the lack of detailed description of how she was performing the moves. Like the previous reviewer, I found the lack of chapters in the main title to be an inconvenience. The only positive thing that I can find is the instructions on playing the zils, but even that I would only rate as adequate.
