I edited the patterns for this book, so understandably I was very concerned to see the post indicating that there could be mistakes within the text. Pattern-checking is taken very seriously indeed and we always do our best to try and ensure that everything is correct before going to print.
The Sunny Side Up pattern is worked in rounds with a set of double-pointed needles. Therefore, the `right side' is always facing you - and so working each round in knit stitches results in stocking stitch, as it should. So this is correct.
In the Octopus pattern there is, unfortunately, an error in the MB (make bobble) instruction. The bobble sequence under `Special abbreviations' should actually read as follows:
(K1, p1, k1, p1) all in next st, turn, p4, turn, k4, turn, p4, turn, (sl3, k1, pass 3 slipped sts over)
I apologise for any inconvenience. We are all human beings and sometimes even despite our best efforts, errors can happen. This line will be corrected for future print runs.
6 of the patterns in the book were my own humble designs, but the other 24 came from a number of very talented knitters and crocheters all around the U.K. It was great to work with these cute, whimsical and inspirational designs! Who knew egg cosies could be so much fun??!!
