1.0 out of 5 stars Not for me. 4 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sorry, I just couldn't get into this. Took a few quirky books on holiday for poolside reading and got about two chapters in before giving up. It was a disjointed jumble of ideas with no discernible purpose. A story didn't get in the way for this author. Advice: we can all recount what are weird and wonderful dreams to us, but that doesn't mean they're worth listening to! Didn't get it and didn't want to waste more of my life trying to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bizarre but benign 15 July 2012
Format:Paperback
I was given this book by someone who thought the title would amuse me. (They were right.) It proved to be one of the weirder books I've read in recent years. It's unlikely you'll have encountered anything like it before - unless you've read anything else by Tao Lin, presumably. The surreal interludes with bears, dolphins and various other fauna were a delight. I had no idea what was going on, but just went with the flow and found I was rather enjoying myself. Whatever the author's message was, I probably absorbed it subliminally. Somehow I feel better for reading this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Anger-inducing. 3 April 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
From the blurb of this book I liked the sound of it. But the blurb is misrepresentative of the book, which sounded fun.

All the sentences are short, phrases are often repeated and jumbled. There is no discernible plot, other than a guy who is depressed, bored and obsessed with killing sprees going around in his car being depressed and bored and talking about killing sprees.
I have started to dare my friends to read 20 pages of it and so far none of them have made it because all of them have got too angry and frustrated.
I have made it to p.70 and it has been such a struggle. I have to keep reading other books in between to make myself feel better.
