Product Description

Edwin Spencer has enough problems at school as it is, without strange voices calling him into another dimension! But when he is sucked into the peculiar kingdom of Hysteria on a secret mission he feels very at home. This could be his chance at last to be a hero-even if he does have Perpetua Alight, school swot, as his sidekick.

An excellent read 26 April 2010
Format:Paperback
Review by Elena (aged 12):

My mum bought this book for me, my sister(she's 8), my two cousins (aged 7 and 9) and my best friend (also aged 12). We all thought it was a great, fun read - as did my mum (and she's 47!!).

This book is perfect for you if you like Adventure, Fantsy, Comedy, a touch of magic and using your imagination!!

Edwin Spencer Mission Improbable is all about a boy (Edwin) who is pulled into this portale and lands in a magical land and.......................... well youll just have to read the rest now wont you!!

In conclusion I think that 'Edwin Spencer Mission Improbable' by the amasing and lovely 'J.D.Irwin' is a NO.1 book for 8-14yr olds and im defently going to read it again!!

Thank-you for reading my reveiw I hope you found it helpful!

Mission Enjoyable 1 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
I'm not a nine year old but I still really enjoyed this book! A good story, well written with humour and a cracking, unexpected twist at the end that I really didn't see coming. Edwin's a realistic hero with all the worries you would expect of a small boy transported to a parallel universe and asked to save it! Some grown up themes and a bit blood thirsty at times, but overall sensitively and appropriately handled for the target age group. In fact, it was quite refreshing that some of the characters were not all that they seem....I hope Edwin and his friends have more adventures in the wonderful world of Hysteria.

A proper adventure! 3 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
What a fun read this book is! A proper adventure story with entertaining, well-drawn characters (my favourite is Edwin's reluctant sidekick, superswot Perpetua Allbright, but I love the descriptions of Edwin's awful parents too). There's loads of action including some terrific sword fighting, and a good bit of riddle solving, plus some really good jokes. I recommend it to anyone who likes funny, exciting fantasy adventures(Dominic Barker's brilliant Blart stories for example, or Artemis Fowl). Age range: 9 and up.
