Good accompaniment to Egan book 23 Nov. 2013
By JenniferD - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This is a good accompaniment to the "Shadow Catcher" book by Timothy Egan. In this book the pictures are large, on much higher quality paper and are easier to see detail on. Reading this book side-by-side with the Egan book is a great way to see the best parts of both.

Realism of the West 11 July 2014
By Lady Carlene - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This was a gift to a family member so that they would have the visual realism, to go along as a companion to a book which they were reading on the history of the West. The pictures are moving, interesting and powerful. These photos are also eye-opening as you look at the faces of the Native Americans in this book and realize that Edward S. Curtis has captured more than their images. He has also, caught their suffering, their pride and the honest beauty that made up the many different Native American nations. This book is more than a collection of photos; it is a remembrance of what once was.
