Product Description

Review

I have found it useful in helping to plan aspects of some modules of the course. Relevant, accessible language for teachers and students. Useful further reading. --Senior Lecturer, Swansea Institute of Higher Education

Each of the 21 chapters clearly and firmly, yet gently and attractively, delves more and more deeply into its issue, so that in remarkably few pages the thoughtful reader can become at least superficially an expert in that aspect of our subject. Overall, this is a very good book in its not very good niche, one that will keep undergraduates and even many of their teachers entirely satisfied. --British Journal of Educational Technology 38(3) 2007

It covers a wide range of topics relevant to those aspiring to become teachers and prompts essential reflection --Lecturer, University of Birmingham

Product Description

Education Studies is an increasingly popular undergraduate degree course, investigating the key issues in education both past and present, and developing students critical thinking. This book, whose contributors include key names and institutions in Education Studies, is completely up-to-date and the first to directly address these issues. For each topic, an overview is followed by discussion of a key topic from a variety of perspectives, including Research Summary and Pause for Thought boxes to promote reflection and analysis.

Good book 30 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback
Used the book quite a bit, particularly during the last year of my Ed Studies degree. Not an easy book to sit down and read but useful.
