This fantastic guide to High/Scope has been written by one of it's main founders, David Weikart. David, through his High/Scope process, has given young children around the world the ability to make decisions, solve problems and be independent. If you work with young children and want to know about how High/Scope works and why it works so well then this book will become your bible. It is a warts n' all look into the philosophy behind the High/Scope system, and how you can use it effectively in a child care or school setting. 'Educating Young Children' helped me to understand that children do not become successful, happy and caring human beings by sitting at desks all day writing on worksheets, learning Maths this and English that, but by taking control of their own lives, discovering the world through play and having fun!I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

This book is the official manual for High/Scope curriculum. It outlines exactly how to set up a High/Scope classroom, from setting up the learning environment to guiding adult interactions. It gives you everything you need to know to be an amazing preschool teacher and it is backed by a mountain of research. You no longer have to reinvent the wheel. They have provided everything necessary to be successful in a classroom and for your students to be successful.
