Excellent value for money.Much better to have this
neat volume while walking around Edinburgh, instead
of the larger one. It 'met my needs' and was v. good
to leave behind for my student grand-daughter's next
four years in this great city.

Took this away for the weekend and came in very handy.
The map in the back in great, and each section has some good suggestions - doesnt include accomodation though.
Found the highlights sections at the back the most helpful, with good top 5's for certain categories - eg top 5 restaurants with views, cafes for brunch, monuments with views etc.

I got this book for my first time in Edinburgh, which I have renamed Edinburger. The book gives honest reviews about all the main attractions from first hand experience. For instance we went to the Dungeons, which was quiet cringe worthy. If only we had read the review in the the book first! It's a great size for carrying with you and the detachable map is handy. Each district is in a separate chapter so you can plan your activities in each area, without having to walk all over the city.

I read this book before my first trip to Edinburgh. I enjoyed the read particularly the history of Edinburgh (located in the back of the book) and the little fact type boxes. Read more
