I have just installed it on my son's computer to link with DLink N router. Manual and Instructions are inadequate. The wizard failed and the adaptor would not recognize my router. I installed and reinstalled with no avail. Finally I downlaoded the latest driver. After connecting the adaptor again I used the setup utility in the download file. It installed correctly but the edimax icon at the bottom said utility not installed. Once I disconnected the adaptor and reconnected (probably an important step of setup not mentioned in the manual or the wizard) it worked like dream. The rest of the process was simple. The connection speed is unbelievable at 135mg/s and broadband speed test indicated download speed increased from 7-8 MB/S to over 20MB/S. I have the excellent virgin 50MB speed hence the high speeds. Hope this helps. I will be buying few more of these. Can't go wrong with this price. Also I will try to the high gain one for the upstairs computer.

Finally I have found my perfect adapter!

After breaking my second adapter, I was fed up with these huge things that I was constantly snagging when I used my laptop. So, I started to look around for a smaller one, and this is it!

Does the job perfectly, it was set up and ready to go in about five minutes, which just involved you putting the in installation CD.

I cant believe how tiny it is! I have had it for a few weeks now, and have always connected fast and easily.

Would certainly recommend it!

Once installed and configured*, the typical throughput from my WiFi network (with a draft N Edimax router) is reportedly 130MB/s across the WiFi network. The reception appears to be consistent with no drop-out hence rating this tiny USB dongle the full 5 stars.

* Windows XP couldn't automatically install a driver and there didn't appear to be a .inf file on the accompanying CD, but as soon as the main Edimax utility was installed from the CD the driver was automatically installed.

I don't normally use OEM wireless utilities as the Windows app is straightforward, however, the Edimax utility is first class: it connects to a WEP enabled network much more quickly than the Windows app but, better than that, there is much more information. Not only the signal strength of all surrounding WiFi networks in range but also the channel number - with this information you can then set your router to an unused channel thereby avoiding interference from neighbouring networks.

This adapter also ships with an extension USB lead so that it can be positioned for better signal. On the selection of tower PCs that I trialled with this adapter the extension just wasn't necessary as the signal strength was superb. (Of course, that is probably helped by the Edimax BR-6504N router that is also superb - see my other review.)

Going to keep this simple. Was a bit unsure due to the size, read the reviews on Amazon which were mainly positive, saw the price and thought what the hell. I'm using this on my desk top computer (upstairs) with a Netgear Range Max Next "n" type router (downstairs). Works perfectly, 100% satisfied!!

The spec looks good but this product does not work with WPA-PSK TKIP precoded routers such as my SKY wireless router. The literature doesn't indicate this so I didn't find this out till 3/4 through setup and sratching my brain to determine cause of problem.

This is a fantastic little USB wireless adapter. Compatible with all wireless versions 802.11B/G/N. It has a fantastic range for a USB adapter, i currently have a bog standard Netgear 802.11g router and get a "Excellent/Good" signal from my router which is on the opposite side of the house over 12m away, so i could go alot further before the signal degrades.

I have this currently on my desktop PC but its ideal for any laptop due to its compact size. It does come with its own software although you can just use it through the Windows built in wireless software.

The speed is also extremely good, much faster than the built in wireless on my HP laptop.

If your looking for something compact in size and fast then this really is worth every penny compared to other similarly priced wireless adapters.

I wanted to wireless my Desk Top PC so I could print wirelessly. The first mistake was to purchase a Belkin Wireless G USB Network adapter from PC world. Buy in haste buy twice. The trouble it caused me was awful, the number of times I had to ring Belkin support with no satisfactory out come. In my frustration I started to research through Google. The Adapter that came up time and again was this little gem, the Edimax EW-7711utn 11n150Mbps mini USB adapter. When connected it protrudes out the back of my PC the length of the giant Belkin adapters cap and only the width of a USB socket and is solidly connected, amazing unlike the Belkin which was sloppy to say the least. To cap it all, the Edimax is a whole lot cheaper than the second rate Belkin. It took no more than 5 minutes to set up the Edimax with no problems or having to ring any support system. The little gem has been in operation for a couple of months now with no problems, and the wireless printing from the PC is faultless. Sorry that I cannot give you any technical jargon but I am by no means an IT consultant. I would recommend the Edimax 11n mini adapter to anybody. Extremely pleased.
