EW-7711USn is a high-gain wireless USB adapter which provides a simple and easy way to add or upgrade wireless connectivity to your desktop or notebook computer. This nLITE high-gain USB adapter supports higher data rates up to 150Mpbs when connected to a wireless 802.11n device. Simply plug it into a computer's USB port and you can enjoy its incredibly high-speed wireless performance.

Compatible with wireless 802.11n devices with data rate up to 150Mbps With the latest wireless 802.11n technology built into it, EW-7711USn can increase the coverage 3 times more and reduce "dead spots" within the wireless range. The transmission data rate when connected to wireless 802.11n devices can reach up to 150Mbps, making signal travel farther and guarantee wireless connections compared to a standard wireless 802.11b/g network.

Supports multi-language EZmax setup wizard - The included 16 languages EZmax setup wizard and friendly UI will walk you through configuring EW-7711USn to your wireless network.

3dBi high gain detachable antenna - The detachable antenna with extended USB cable let you relocate the antenna to receive the best signals. Also, you can change to any high gain aerial with RP-SMA interface. Its rotatable and detachable 3dBi high gain antenna makes the wireless transmission more stable and reach farther. EW-7711USn is your choice for wireless connection.

Wireless Security - EW-7711USn supports 64/128-bit WEP data encryption that protects your wireless network from eavesdropping. It also supports WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) feature that combines IEEE 802.1x and TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) technologies. Furthermore, this adaptor supports WPA2 and WPS functions, WPA2 provides a stronger encryption mechanism through AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), which is a requirement for some corporate and government users. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a standard for easy and secure establishment of a wireless network. EW-7711USn supports software WPS-compatible configuration. When both ends of the wireless connection use wireless solution with WPS, it will automatically configure the wireless network with robust WPA data encryption and authentication.

Wireless as it should be 15 Feb 2010

This was bougth to replace another wireless adapter, that had some problems with windows 7. This edimax is found and installed by windows 7 without no problems at all. With the old usb adapter i had 36-48 Mbps, with signal quality around 2-3. This wonderfull adapter reaches 65 Mbps, and with a signal quality on 5 (sometimes, but not very often it dips to 4).
You can install some bundled edimax software that allows you to configure all the same settings as you can in windows 7. I havent used it in windows 7, only tested it with an old windows xp installation. And by the way, the adapter works perfectly in windows xp.
I'm so happy about this product, having finally fixed my problems with the wireless connection between my router and my primary computer.

Does what it says on the box!! 9 July 2010

I had a difficult installation to sort out with a router 40 feet away from the computer and 3 solid brick walls in the way.Installed in about 2 minutes (Windows 7 Home)and works perfectly.It looks a bit fragile so I would always use a USB on the rear panel.

I initially had a problem with the non-delivery of this product from amazin memory, but after a long wait they eventually sent a replacement that turned up in about a week.

The package includes a USB extension lead which after a bit of huffing and puffing at the back of my desktop I decided to use - it made using the usb slot next door a lot easier, and also means I have raised it up a bit to sit on a window ledge. The product itself is unremarkable, lightweight, but with a small light which flashes away to show the data passing through. I installed on a windows 7 desktop - no need to use the bundled software - simply and quickly recognised. Up and running in about 2 minutes.

The reception seems very good - showing 4-5 bars whereas my laptop is more like 3-4, so on that basis worth the extra bulk to use the arial. Speed is not really tested on my set up due to a pretty weedy broadband connection and an aging 'g' router. Overall I am satisfied with this - having paid about a third of what I would have paid on the high street.

Works with back-track linux

This little USB dongle works excellent with the back-track distribution. It allows package insertion. I use it with a large external antenna. A great product at a low price.
