I purchased this little dongle because it was a paltry £10, and promised to do the job of hooking up my old PC into our new wireless network. With Windows XP running as the operating system of choice, I am very happy with the connection provided - hasn't cut out yet, and I'm definitely taking advantage of my 8meg connection. Good stuff!

The installation isn't quite as painless as some plug and play devices are with XP, but straight forward never-the-less. The big problem with this device is when I came to use it with ubuntu. The connection would stay with me for a while, and then hang due to (I suspect) overheating. This might just be my problem, but I thought it was worth mentioning nevertheless!

So to sum up, excellent for windows, may be unsuitable for some linux distributions..

Not Zydas 14 May 2009
By A. Gibb
Despite the listing, this product does not use the Zydas chip set, instead it is manufactured by Ralink. The correct driver under Linux is rt73.

All that said it works just fine. Great value for money.
