Love it, love it, love it!

Bought initially to plug into my MacBook to play Spotify music at parties, it now sits stylishly behind my TV and doubles as viable speakers for a great viewing experience. A totally pleasant surprise and the best home entertainment investment I've made to date, especially at this price.

It looks great, sounds amazing and draws great attention when people are trying to work out where "that great sound is coming from".

Will be buying Edifier again for future sound systems.

In terms of setup the instructions were very good and simple to step through. The quality is definitely there too but in terms of bass, the product does lack in this area. Even though the sound of the system is good and clear, I would have liked it to have a touch more bass... hope this review helps!

First of all, I ordered the speakers late on a Thursday night, and they arrived on the Monday morning (post free). You cant really ask for much better than that.
I use the speakers with my computer, and they are great for that. The sound is excellent, and the base is adjustable separately so you can have it really heavy or a bit less if you don't want to disturb the rest of your house (or your neighbours if you live in a flat). The desktop sound control is really cool and works very smoothly with a nicely damped movement.
I chose black, but the white, and silver ones both look great too. They look really stylish.
I'm not really into classical music, so I cant say if they would be good enough for someone who was really discerning, but for me they are fine. The volume is adequate - I never have them fully turned up, but you do have to turn the control a fair bit to get good volume (on my system). I think they would struggle in a big room, but in fact I tried standing quite a bit away from them, and I felt they actually sounded richer. For less than £50.00, I wouldn't buy anything else! The lack of ultimate power is why I only gave them four stars, but that's really a bit unfair -four and a half stars would be more accurate.

After extensive web searching of reviews and comparisons with other similar systems I opted for this little unit to provide external sound for my PC in my home office. I have not been disappointed. With my SB X-Fi sound card this system brings my games and music alive. The speakers look like proper speakers rather than cheap systems and the sub-woofer is the perfect size, smaller than a speakerbus, which sits perfectly under my desk. I use the wired volume control on my desk and the top mounted on\off switch (which helpfully glows a pleasing red when on) can easily be activated by my feet when required. The subwoofer fires down and when turned up full can be felt throughout this and the next door neighbours house. All-in-all a rather attractive unit which does exactly what it needs to without breaking the bank. I feel the music is better than the CReative T7900 7.1 system it replaced and my games have not stopped being as immersive either with the drop to a 2.1 system. I thoroughly recommend this product as a solution for a home office\bedroom PC.

These speakers are easy to setup. Mine came from a supplier in Spain and took slightly longer to arrive than the quoted time. You get a EU plug with a UK adaptor - but it works.

The only real design flaw is the positioning of the control for the bass level. It is located close to the bottom of the sub woofer. Most people will position the sub woofer in such a place that the control is difficult to get at without getting down on your knees and/or moving to speaker. Pity the control could not be incorporated into the wired volume control.

On the wired control are two 3.5mm jacks one for an additional audio input, the other a headphone socket - nice touches.

Sound quality? For the price these 2.1 speakers offer really good sound, treble, mid-range and bass - all reproduced pretty accurately. Sure, they are not going to compete with high end audio speakers, but for powered, 2.1 speakers around £50, they really are exceptional. Very loud - when needed, with no distortion at normal listening levels.

If they move the bass control, then I would give these speakers 5 stars.

Have you had the same dilemma as me? Got a new flat screen tv and found the sound quality rubbish. Looked at all the options of upgrading the sound, decided you don't what 10 speakers round the room and yet another remote to loose down the back of the sofa, just shelled all your money out on the tv. Looked at soundbars, neat, yes, but just as expensive, found only optical devises (or so your told by the makers or salesman) work with your tv's remote.
Well here is a cheap and simple solution. Run these though the tv's headphone socket, hide the sub behind the telly, or on the floor if wall mounted, place the small speakers either side and you've got yourself hi quality sound at half the price. Why do people just reserve these types of systems for pc's it doesn't make sense! As for the speakers, there are 2 in each side unit and of course one big one in the sub, they cater well for all ranges of music, speech and thuds in movies. I even had to turn the sub down about 25% so as not to crack the ceiling. They look good, the build quality is excellent and are very good value. There more than adequate for pc's and an excellent substitute for upgrading your tv's sound quality. 10/10
