If you're used to this series of textbooks, then you will know that errors in answers come with the territory, but this one is certainly better than the M2 one, which is riddled with them - having worked through the whole book I have only found a few mistakes (mostly in Chapter 1, it has to be said). Haven't greatly used the CD, but at least you can normally see with that if the working goes awry. The review exercises, which I haven't worked through, are fantastic for students to use as revision.

I have rarely seen such shoddy editing as in these books by Keith Pledger. Truly one of the WORST series of books in terms of helping students. Fair enough the questions are decently designed, the book has lots of exam questions, and provides a good enough grounding for the exam. But that's where the pros end.

The book (not just this one, ALL of them in the entire series by Keith Pledger) is FULL of mistakes. The same questions will have different values to start with in the CD compared to the book. To me this suggests a haphazard, CARELESS approach that is truly a slap in the face to students who are trying to study from this book. I haven't got a clue why Edexcel have endorsed these books because they have NO respectability, because there are SO MANY mistakes in them! Also don't be fooled by the CD; the working out is frequently more challenging to understand than the question itself. Different approaches or alternative methods are VERY RARELY touched upon. There is no working in the CD for the examination paper at the end. Truly an AWFUL experience. Very arrogant author, releasing a book without checking every single question; I suppose it's not his fault either, since there are virtually no competitors for M4, it's not a surprise that he's trying to get away with not doing his job properly. Since very few people take these examinations, I guess they don't bother. The mistakes keep increasing with the more advanced modules!!

Again, TRULY AWFUL. Would give it 0 stars if I could. No complaints department, no corrections department, no contact information, nothing in the book to even give students a chance to try and rectify the issues. Absolutely useless.

The exercises at the end of the chapters are great, but the explanations are not detailed and the examples have a few mistakes. For learning and understanding the course, the old specification book is better.

An excellent book, I do feel that the government should be subsidising the book for the students as the total number of books can be quite a lot for a typical student

This M4 book from edexcel is very good. It requires knowledge from FP2, FP3 and other previous modules. Really loved it.!!!!
