This book was used for self-study of the Edexcel iGCSE Biology exam, gaining great results!
The book is divided into easy to follow units and sections, with practise questions at the end of each unit then at the end of each section (there are several units per section) - the answers for these can be found on the Pearson website.
Each unit covers a specific topic, which is described clearly and is easy to follow. There are plenty of diagrams and images, all of which aid understanding.
I started this book not understanding Biology and not only did this book help me understand it but more importantly, I now enjoy it too! Great book.

I read a review on this book where the author complains that there are no answers in the book. The solution to this is to log on to the edexcel website, look up the book and download the free pdf that provides the answers.

This is an essential book for any person studying Edexcel's IGCSE Biology Specification. There is a consistent, logical structure to the book with clear diagrams and explanations. The end of chapter and unit questions allow you to consolidate your learning, and the overall experience is supported by the highly usable CD, which contains answers to the questions and additional materials including videos.
For revision purposes, Edexcel IGCSE Biology Revision Guide with Student CD is a great buy, which corresponds to the textbook.
This textbook can be used as reading, for somebody who is home schooled, taught at school, or even as an alternative to GCSE Biology textbooks, and the price represents excellent value.
