5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 21 Mar 2010
By BG123
Absolutely brilliant.
This book is targeted precisely on the specification, and covers everything we need to know for IGCSE Physics.
Well laid-out and easy-to-understand (unlike most Physics teachers, from my experience).
Buy now for a top grade!

This is an absolutely fantastic book. Well written, with everything very clear. Other reviewers mentioned that they couldn't find instructions on how to get the answers, but I thought they just weren't looking properly........ so I ordered.... Well, we can't find them either! With some difficulty, I've found an email address on the Pearson website, and have asked for the answers. It would be so much easier though, if the answers were published as a loose-leaf insert with the book, or on another CD (as they are with the corresponding revision guide (another fantastic book). Fab, fab book, put please publishers--add a little insert telling us how to get the answers without having to go through so many hoops!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book 20 Sep 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I bought this book for my home schooled children, they find it excellent at explaining the subject. I also notice that people are finding it difficult to locate the answers. They are on the Edexcel website. Excellent book certainly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good 10 Sep 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Quite informative, yet, simple.
Comes with a soft copy of the book therefore, it's not a must you carry the book around everywhere. Just have it on your laptop or something.

However, there are like tests and stuff in the book and I believe that would require an 'answers' section of the book (which does not exist). I believe this because someone could be working with the things in those questions and mini tests and not realise that he/she is writing a whole lot of rubbish because he/she can't find the exact answers in the notes in that chapter.

Besides that, the book's pretty good and a must-have.

1.0 out of 5 stars No answers 21 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I know another reviewer has mentioned this - and one author has posted a comment - but the answers to the exercises are not easy to find at all. The author commented they are available on a website mentioned in the book - but we have scoured it and can't find any website offering the answers mentioned.

I have not opened the CD because, if I can't resolve this p.d.q., this book is going back.

Content is nice - but we are not physics teachers. So if you know physics well enough to know how to answer the exam questions already, then buy. Otherwise "caveat emptor". If you don't, then the book is nice but US.

I will change this review obviously should the answers be found

Modern, up-to-date book, quite tightly geared to Edexcel -- but nothing on quarks or PET scans (which are on the syllabus!)???
