I have found this book easy to work with and is a good basic supplement to the A2 edexcel course as it is so tailored to it. The book is particularly helpful in picking out thinkers and going through what each of them thinks. However, I have found much of the information rather basic and I have found not good enough to write exam answers with to a high standard.
Often it is hard to find information to answer the 'why do ..... advocate/ believe ....?' questions which are very prevalent 15 markers.
This book is well written and good as a starting point when first learning about ideologies and a basic revision guide. But I would strongly recommend using other sources such as Heywood's Political Ideologies (even though this is poorly written and still lacks deep detail) and in-depth quides about each ideology separately in your studies of A2 Government and Politics.
