Product Description

Product Description

Student Unit Guides are perfect for revision. Each guide is written by an examiner and explains the unit requirements, summarises the relevant unit content and includes a series of specimen questions and answers.

There are three sections to each guide:

Introduction - includes advice on how to use the guide, an explanation of the skills being tested by the assessment objectives, an outline of the unit or module and, depending on the unit, suggestions for how to revise effectively and prepare for the examination questions.

Content Guidance - provides an examiner's overview of the module's key terms and concepts and identifies opportunities to exhibit the skills required by the unit. It is designed to help students to structure their revision and make them aware of the concepts they need to understand the exam and how they might analyse and evaluate topics.

Question and Answers - sample questions and with graded answers which have been carefully written to reflect the style of the unit. All responses are accompanied by commentaries which highlight their respective strengths and weaknesses, giving students an insight into the mind of the examiner.

Great book 10 Mar 2010
A fantastic buy! I bought this book only maybe three weeks before my january re-sit of the exam where I was trying to improve a low D grade. I am not the sort of person who can simply read a passage and know it immediately, but with this book, simply going through with a highlighter making the occasional note seemed very effective! It's packed full of all the necessary info, summaries, evaluation points and the exam style questions were really useful as well.

As a result of the revision I did with this book as an aid, I went into the exam room feeling confident despite my previous grade. I got my results back today and I got a high B! I believe that this revision guide had alot to do with this and would recommend it to anyone who is taking economics!

Got this a few weeks ago. Really good book - nicely summarised. It has exam questions and candidate answers (with their marks) as well, along with tips and common examination errors. Strongly recommend it to anyone doing AS Economics.

This books covers Unit 1 of the AS Edexcel Economics examination, the microeconomics paper. I bought it for the content guidance, although at the beginning it has advice, and at the end questions and comments on sample exam papers. The content guidance was very good, each theory is summarised and explained, condensed down enough to meet specification requirements without being too short to miss anything out, and there are advantages and disadvantages listed where needed to get you the evaluation marks in the paper. There is one negative point however which is one error I've noticed, which is the exclusion of a National Minimum Wage diagram, which you need to know. But this can be obtained from other sources. Overall though, it is clear and a good summary of the whole of Unit 1 and would highly recommend it for revision.
