Product Description

Product Description

Time your kitchen tasks with style and accuracy. The Eddingtons retro timer will time anything up to 60 minutes. Simply twist the face of the timer all the way round to 60 minutes and then back to the desired time setting (this action winds the timer in a clockwork fashion to give a longer ring), when your time is up the timer will ring to notify you. Storage on any steel surface is easy with the strong built in magnet.

Works well, very loud. Would have preferred instructions to be more comprehensive as nearly sent it back when thought it didn't work. NOTE, you need to turn it right round and then set it to the requited time, works perfectly if you do that! Very retro and strong magnet, would never fall off a fridge.

I was slightly concerned by other reviews saying the item didn't work, however it has worked fine, and as described on other comments, i.e. It must be turned in a complete clockwise rotation before being turned anticlockwise back to the necessary time.

Elements of the item I particularly liked:
It is heavy and of metal construction which gives the item a quality feel (rather than tacky retro).
The magnet is very strong, and the timer has stayed put to my fridge door for months without moving an inch.
The traditional ringing sound is exactly what I was after.
Although some might find this a con; the timer rings for just a few seconds. Long enough to hear but not long enough to irritate.

It looks as lovely as expected and it works fine, but obviously I've not had it long. It seems a good design and the magnet at the back does work to hold it to an upright surface, even though it seems as though it would be too heavy. I'm very pleased.

Purchased as a Christmas present for the wife. She was happy, it looked nice and done what it should. However, after about 6 months it stopped working and ended up in the bin. Replaced with a cheap plastic unit that is still going strong. We may have been unlucky with this unit, but just to make sure, keep your recipt.

I like this magnetic timer very much: it's pretty, sturdy, sounds loudly enough and its magnet is very strong so it won't slide down.

This really does have a traditional feel to it as well as looks. It is nice and heavy and feels very solid and well made. The powerful magnet on the back is perfectly capable of holding the weight.
I seem to buy kitchen timers on a very regular basis; some only lasting a couple of months, and never really expect them to last more than a year. I have high hopes of this one, though.
I was very glad I read the reviews by other customers; I, too, thought I had a faulty one until I realised you have to turn the dial right round before you set the time.
This, by the way, is the second one of these that I have bought. I had difficulty finding a suitable surface to place my timer, and stuck it on the side of the AGA. Don't do that; it melted the plastic bits! I blame it on my age.

Bought this in Red, looks great. For those who are saying it doesn't work, please remember that it needs to be wound all the way round first, and then set to the desired time.
Did the job, then the chome (well plastic) rim fell off after a month or so. Didn't make much of a difference to the operation.
Then after about 4-5 months, it stopped working altogether. Shame.

Tis timer seems great. Navy little thing. Great sound to its bell. I'm hard of hearing and I can hear it! Seems sturdy as well.
