I bought this bag to replace our old bread bin. The bread stays fresh for much longer in this bag than it ever did in the bread bin. And it does not take up as much space in the kitchen as the bread bin did. You can only put one loaf in, though. It's just large enough to fit one large loaf of bread in. If you want to store more than one loaf, like we often do, you will need 2 of these.

Really impressed. I've started baking my own bread and found that plain cotton or linen bread bags don't tend to keep it for very long - I think that they're designed for keeping shop bought bread (with its huge amount of preservatives and salt) fresher for longer, and not more natural breads. This bag has a plastic lining which keeps home baked bread fresher for much longer. A rye soda bread kept for five days without going hard and a wholemeal loaf kept fresh tasting and mould free for a week without showing any signs of going stale. As home baked bread doesn't normally tend to keep for longer than a couple of days, I would say that the Eddingtons bag is invaluable if you like baking your own bread, but don't tend to eat huge amounts of it.

I make my own bread, as it does not have any preservatives tends not to last as long as shop bought bread. The bread bag keeps it fresher for longer. Also got one for my son at university, he has found it money saving.

This bread store bag is lined with plastic and therefore makes the bread go off quickly. In other words it doesn't work!

I was looking for a bread bag of cotton. There is a normal plastic bag inside with a cotton cover. What is the point? I cannot see any benefit using using this product from a regular clear plastic bag.

The other Eddington bags: Onion, Garlic is really good. They got a different material inside. With the bread bag - use a plastic bag and save your money.

i was surprised to find that this cotton drawstring bag is lined with clear plastic. So far it has kept my bread, bought and home made, ok but I am meticulous about cleaning the liner and making sure it is dry before I use it again- on a regular basis.;
