This is a great nutcracker & will crack open all types & sizes of nuts. It is also perfect for opening the tops of stubborn bottles.

Really fantastic design BUT making it out of a weak metal like aluminum was not a great idea. One Brazil nut was all it took for the handle to snap.

I like this nut cracker, inside the "cone" there is a ridged surface that holds the nut securely when applying pressure and cracks all types of nuts efficiently and quickly.

Pleased with the construction as it is very sturdy and robust

Unlike most nutcrackers this one knows when to stop crushing, so it cracks the shell but doesn't reduce the kernel to pulp. Much more controllable than conventional crackers owing to its conical design. Almonds tend to need a bit of care with alignment, but walnuts and pecans are a doddle!
The handles feel a bit flimsy in use but I haven't managed to break them yet - get the alignment right and you don't need to apply too much force. With care you can use your spare hand to stop shell bits flying all over the room.

I bought a cheaper version of these and they bent when opening almonds. These are great and have manged two Christmas's of opening nuts and are still in great condition. They crack the shell easily without pieces flying everywhere and without crushing the nut, even my 6 year old can open almonds and walnuts by himself. Worth the money and the red is very festive.

Having been given a large pile of walnuts I thought I would invest in a suitable gadget to make the process of shelling a little easier. Whilst this cracker does the job OK the walnuts don't always stay in the bowl and I suspect that there might be better products available if I had been prepared to invest a little more.

Bought this to replace a similar one which eventually fell apart after many years of service. The only style of nut crackers I have ever found which give you a good chance of obtaining whole nuts. My tip is to crack the shell once, then turn it around and crack it again from the other end.Usually works.

Very pleased, easy to crack nuts without too much strength (arthritic fingers), surprised to see some adverse criticisms. Have had no problems with hazelnuts or walnuts. I find a gentle pressure with the thumb on the nut to keep it in place does the trick.

Overall a nice design, and doesn't crush the kernel, however it still struggles to crack almonds - it feels like the hinge is going to break before the nut does.
