The audacious concert film Eddie Murphy Raw rubbed some people the wrong way upon its release in 1987, but there's no denying that between Murphy's more insensitive bits about women and gay men is some of his most inspired material. While the young comedian indulges an unattractive homophobia and rants about the sexual manipulativeness of all females, he makes up for it with an amazing story about being chided by Bill Cosby for obscene humor and does a great impression of Mr. T falling under the spell of a Jedi mind trick. The best stuff comes deep into the show, particularly a long tale of being pressured into a fight at a club, resulting in a phone call to Murphy's drunk father, the latter in the middle of a verbal attack on his wife. The scene is genuinely horrifying and funny, testament to Murphy's early reputation as heir to Richard Pryor's mercilessly autobiographical brilliance. --Tom Keogh

This is 20 odd years old and shows Eddie Murphy at his best. Ranges from pretty funny to hilarious with very little wasted space. This is his best work by far, in fact it has to be in the top 3 comedies in history

After watching this video i was in stiches after laughing so much. This video shows the real Eddie Murphy the way he was. If you like watching comdey stand up shows and Eddie Murphy then i really think you should watch it. My favourite part was when he was doing impressions of Italian/Americans and Bill Cosby. Absolutely hillarious.

This is Eddie Murphy in his prime, before he had children and went soft. Some of the content may be slightly outrageous, but all for a great comical effect. He creates humour out of the Moonwalk, Mr T and several other characters.
The only criticism I would make is regarding his sketch about the telephone which carried on for too long.
It is a must have and is probably one of the greatest stand up comedy performances I have seen.

Comedy Genius!
Raw has got to be the funniest show ever. Some people say Delirious was his best but I beg to differ. I laughed all the way through the show!!!

HILARIOUS!
watching this dvd you will realise how much more entertaing comedy was before the world went overboard with political correctness. a must see dvd!

Not his best but close second
Raw is really good show. Eddie is as always a lot of fun and entertaining as well. Love the Mr. T impression and of course the Richard Pryor impression as well. Warmly recommended.
