A part of life. 9 Dec 2002
Format:VHS Tape
You know you've come across something good when elements of it start to become part of your everyday speech and actions. My circle of friends all love Eddie Izzard and it's easy to see. Instead of trying to get someone's attention, yelling "You! Cake or death?!!" works just as well. If we want to protest at an accusation we don't say "i didn't do it!", we say "I was dead at the time! I was on the moon!". The list goes on. Cats aren't purring, they are drilling!
Eddie Izzard's rambling style and unashmed transvestite-ism ("just call me TV") puts people off for some reason. To those people i say this. You know how elated you feel when you laugh with such abandon that your face hurts, tears are streaming down your face and you know you have to breathe at some point but can't fit it in just yet as something even funnier has been said? Watch Eddie Izzard for such elation.
"You, blue pants, will infiltrate white wash...."
I could just regergatate all his sketches but i don't have enough days free. This man is damn funny. As well as creating absurd scenarios ("Why didn't Star Trek phasers have a 'Limp' setting?") he also simplifys issues (religion, transvestite-ism, consumerism) into jokes that just might make you think a bit....after you've finished wetting yourself.

This is the funniest Eddie Izzard performance out there. Consistently funny throughout and mind-alteringly surreal (cats drilling for gold, dogs unhappy with their wash) thi is stand-up comedy as it should be.

If you want or need a really good laugh, then you can't do better than this. The best introduction to Eddie's own brand of bonkers comedy

I bought this on the recommendation of the other fabulous reviewers here and was not disappointed at all. Eddie Izzard is not only hilarious, but he has a hilarity unique to himself. I wish I had been in the audience during this fantastic performance of Unrepeatable! He just has a way of plugging into an audience and delivering these fantastic sets. I couldn't stop myself laughing: the bit about Prince Charles' security guards particularly left me devastated. If you like Eddie, you'll love this. If you don't like Eddie... umm... get it anyway! With a DVD this good, you might be surprised!

One of his best
Eddie looks great in this, like the magic golden boy he is. Some of the material is a little weak, but his delivery is perfect, he's in perfect sync with his audience. Read more
