You know you've come across something good when elements of it start to become part of your everyday speech and actions. My circle of friends all love Eddie Izzard and it's easy to see. Instead of trying to get someone's attention, yelling "You! Cake or death?!!" works just as well. If we want to protest at an accusation we don't say "i didn't do it!", we say "I was dead at the time! I was on the moon!". The list goes on. Cats aren't purring, they are drilling!
Eddie Izzard's rambling style and unashmed transvestite-ism ("just call me TV") puts people off for some reason. To those people i say this. You know how elated you feel when you laugh with such abandon that your face hurts, tears are streaming down your face and you know you have to breathe at some point but can't fit it in just yet as something even funnier has been said? Watch Eddie Izzard for such elation.
"You, blue pants, will infiltrate white wash...."
I could just regergatate all his sketches but i don't have enough days free. This man is damn funny. As well as creating absurd scenarios ("Why didn't Star Trek phasers have a 'Limp' setting?") he also simplifys issues (religion, transvestite-ism, consumerism) into jokes that just might make you think a bit....after you've finished wetting yourself.
