This limited edition boxset, shaped in the form of the head of Iron Maiden's mascotte Eddie (with light-up eyes!), contains 13 Iron Maiden albums, of which 3 are double cds. That measures up to 16 cds, folks!
The set includes the debut album from 1980, 1981's Killers, 1982's The Number Of The Beast, 1983's Piece Of Mind, 1984's Powerslave, 1986's Somewhere In Time, 1988's Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, 1990's No Prayer For The Dying, 1992's Fear Of The Dark, and three live double albums: 1985's Live After Death, 1993's A Real Live Dead One, and Iron Maiden's historic performance at 1992's Donington Monsters Of Rock.
For those who want all of Iron Maiden's classic albums in one buy, this is the perfect set.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eddie Head Iron Maiden Boxset... 21 Nov 2011
Format:Audio CD
Firstly, a great boxset with all the coolest Maiden Albums. The only thing I'm not fond of is the fact that it could've been made from tougher plastic. A lot of people (at least on the US Amazon site) are moaning at the cost of it, it DOES seem to be a LOT more expensive for the US peeps. I'll admit, I paid just 100 on ebay for it which meant the individual cds cost me around 8 or so, which is brilliant value. That's how I always decide whether a box set is worth it or not, the individual cost of the cds.
Anyway, I wouldn't pay more than 130/140 for this box set... so if you see it for under that price and want it, go get it!
And a perfect companion piece is the Anniversary Eddie's Archive Boxset with the double cds of live gigs (Beast Over Hammersmith, BBC Archives) and the Best Of The B-Sides double disc. Also contains a numbered family tree scroll (held in place with an Eddie head ring) and an Eddie shot glass. All items were held in place in the casket in a moulded blue plastic casing. For those completest's out there, the blue plastic casing and numbered scroll indicate that you have the first edition, the second edition has a red plastic case and is not numbered at all on the scroll... AND another good companion piece to all this would be the SoundHouse tapes (which you can get on cd) - very hard to find, but if you're a Maiden fan, you should be able to find it, and then you'll adore it!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE ULTIMATE MAIDEN CD SET 22 Aug 2010
By Mr Blackwell TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
There are not many bands that can rival KISS for merchandising,Maiden certainly come close, this is a superb collectors piece covering all the albums from the debut (1980) thru Live At Donington (1993).I still smile at the thought i bought it days after it was released,in FOPP, 50 off reduced to 125,a must buy purchase, the ex - wife not quite as convinced ha ha.

So what do you get all the albums from Iron Maiden to Live at Donington, all remastered with excellent booklets smothered in lyrics, photos, memorabilia, each cd enhanced to include live videos, band histories, links to the web site etc, fantastic value for money. In addition the first three albums,Iron Maiden,Killers & No of the Beast all have a bonus tracks namely Sanctuary,Twilight Zone & Total Eclipse. The Real Live One/Dead One release is a double cd rather than two singles. You also have a further disc,Iron Maiden: In profile. Finally you have a certificate confirming the release was limited to 25,000 world wide.

The packaging is excellent apart from the battery housing compartment,it has a tendency to spring open even fall off putting pressure on the eyes(L.E.D.S.) which i have had to solder back on a couple of times.

If you can pick this up at a decent price, dont hesitate,it looks superb perched on your speakers.
