The original edition of Sweet Life is a huge, powerful book. The impact is lost somewhat in the small format of this Errata edition but it does, nevertheless, give fascinating background information on the history of it's original publication.

A top Notch Reprint 21 Dec. 2014

Books on books is and interesting retrospective of well known photo books from the past. Sweet Life was my first book on a book. It includes all of the content of the original publication as well as updated "afterword" and a few additional photos and scans of some biographical information on the photographer Ed. Every page from the original German printing has been scanned and translated!
I also really enjoyed the content, a visual travel diary from the 60's, wish I had been alive then.
Fantastic travelogue 30 Mar. 2014

Before cameras became all about being technically flawless (and frankly without character) there was film, and Ed Van der Elsken travelled the world with his wife photographing the world with emotion and an obvious passion for capturing the moment as he felt it and not just how he saw it. These grainy black and white photos, printed richly and shamelessly showing the grain prevalent in the 60's era of photography draw the viewer in this engaging travelogue.
