5.0 out of 5 stars Sheer Asininity!, 5 Dec 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Ed Reardon's Week (Hardcover)
I was that stewardess on the flight to Glasgow - and yes, I did ask what the gentleman was laughing about - and yes, when I read the book he was reading I had to agree, it is a truly funny book . I would certainly recommend it for long-haul flights too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny. Toe Curling, and worrying!, 25 Jul 2006
By Patrick (North West England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ed Reardon's Week (Hardcover)
What's the point of buying a book of a radio series? Well, sometimes the book will tell you more - a closer insight into the character, his feelings and frustrations. So whereas the radio series is a narration, this book almost reads as Ed's private diary, you get the impression that you are being confided in. For me the most worrying part of this brilliant work is that - as a thirtysomething I'm finding myself sympathising - and agreeing - with Ed's rants against the world! The one complaint I have is that the release of the audiobook of the series - that I wanted to buy for a friend's birthday this year - was all of a sudden 'delayed' for another year! What Ed would say about this extra year's loss of royalties is probably unprintable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the Radio Series, 9 Nov 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Ed Reardon's Week (Hardcover)
Ed Reardon was about the best thing I've heard on Radio 4 for several years. In fact I actually used to timetable it into my diary so I could give it my full attention. I picked up this book as soon as it was published being such a fan of the series just to see what these guys would do and was pretty surprised to find it is just as funny as the show. In the first couple pages I laughed out loud several times and didn't stop. In fact on a flight from London to Glasgow yesterday I was asked by the stewardesses just what I was reading so she could get hold of it. Anyway don't take my word for it, check it out yourself, this is top drawer laugh out loud comedy.

Utterly brilliant. Very funny, an all too truthful portrait of a middle-aged man taking arms against a sea of twelve year olds. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars More Reardon!
I too think the BBC 4 series is the bee’s knees and put it in my Outlook schedule when it’s on air. The writers are comic geniuses; the funniest guys on BBC. Read more
