Whilst studying at the University of London Ed joined the Officer's Training Corps and was commissioned into the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers before eventually joining The Parachute Regiment TA after short attachments to the Anglian Regiment, The Royal Horse Artillery and the Royal Artillery where he was trained as a Forward Observation Officer.
He founded a graphic design company in 1980 where he honed his writing skills on marketing campaigns for national and multi-national companies.
Ed has personal experience with many of the weapon systems he writes about. He is the holder of three gold medals gained in national Sport Rifle competitions and has represented Lincolnshire as a member of the County Lightweight Sport Rifle Team.
He has taken early-retirement which enables him to devote more time to writing and lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds with his wife Barb and Airedale Terrier, Cooper.
His novels are a personal salute to the courage, dedication and professionalism of Britain's armed forces.
Ed makes a donation to Help for Heroes for each book sold.
