Product Description

Seasoned travelers Julian Smith and Jean Brown lead travelers to unique, off-the-beaten-path adventures in Ecuador, from riding the train through the steep switchbacks of the famous Nariz del Diablo (Devil's Nose) to enjoying some of the best diving in the world off of the Galpagos Islands. Smith and Brown include several trip strategies that cater to the diverse interests of travelers, such as a Culture and History Tour and Outdoor Adventure Tour. Complete with information on exploring the colonial architecture of Quito's Old Town and climbing volcanoes in Sangay National Park, Moon Ecuador gives travelers the tools they need to create a more personal and memorable experience.

A great view of Ecuador 9 May 2009
By David R. Walstrom - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I have made many trips to Ecuador and have consulted many travel books on that country. This particular book is the best one I've read - the information is presented in a comprehensible manner and is interesting.

Each section provides you with specific tips that allow you to experience the local culture, thus avoidig any pitfalls that the inexperienced traveler could encounter. The book highlights the country's wide range of cultural and geographical diversity.

Informative Guide 8 Mar 2010
By Amber Davis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is another well written guide from the Moon Travel Series. (I "graduated" from Lonely Planet about seven years ago and have no plans to return.)

My husband and I traveled through the central Sierra and jungle area for a few weeks in early 2010. We used this guide and were very happy with the decisions that we made based on the information provided. No complaints, just another set of happy travelers. Thank you, Moon Ecuador!

Interesting, Contemporary, Useful 30 Nov 2009
By C. W. Choc - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
There are lots of guidebooks ... picking one with current information is a first priority. Beyond that, finding one that digs deeper into the kind of questions a typical visitor has turns out to be useful as well. This book does that well. I was also happy with the Internet references scattered throughout so I could find other information too.
