Product Description

Product Description

The multi award winning energy saving product first seen on BBC TV's Dragons Den. Over 1 million units sold since 2008. Standby Saver is a 6-way energy saving extension socket, which allows the user to 'switch off' and eliminate standby power consumption, for up to six appliances. Saves around £43 per year.

Product Description

This standby saver socket helps you avoid unnecessary power consumption by ensuring your periphials are switched off at the same time as your computer. It is a unique system that will also reduce the power used by TVs, audio system, DVD players and many more electrical applications. This unit reacts to the Standby and On buttons of the TV or audio systems original remote control and switches power equipment On and Off as needed. Perfect for use with lamps, CD players, DVD players, VCRs and loads more. This unit has six plug sockets, and will cut off the standby power 100%. Works with existing remote controls and as it is a plug-and-play device it is a breeze to install. Both options have six plug sockets, with two permanentley switched on. This flexiblity allows DVD and video appliances set to record on timers, to be left switched on when required.

The USB version can be operated with any device that has a USB port such as a home or office PC. Standby saver uses intelligent technology to realise the computer and periphials are no longer being used and switch them off.

Features:
Child resitant locks
6-way trailing extension socket
All sockets reduce appliance standby consumption to zero when in standby mode
Helps save energy and money

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for me and my TV 2 April 2009
THis item is superb. It works with my TV and powers down once the TV is put on standby. It powers on immediately when I click the appropriate button on the TV remote. I decided not to use the TV remote on button which means that it works well.

Easy to set up as long as you follow the instructions. Will be purchasing several for use in my house.

3.0 out of 5 stars Of Limited Use 9 Feb 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Like some other reviewers, I've found that this device does not turn itself off when my PC is shut down, because the PC still continues to power its USB sockets. If I then turn off the physical switch on the back of the PC case, then the device works and does turn off its sockets. I have not found a way of persuading my PC to cease poering its USB sockets when shut down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!! 11 April 2009
By Review
Easy to setup and works brilliantly. I no longer have to switch my equipment off at the mains, all I have to do is turn the T.V. off and everything else switches off too!

There are 2 "always on" plugs. I use one of them to keep my Sky+ box switched on so it keeps recording my programmes.

I am planning to buy another one to use around the house!!
