I've just ordered another of these well constructed fire guards and I don't have an open fire. The reason being, they are a perfect protection to stop my dog being able to "Attack" my television system when another dog, cow etc appears on the screen. It's the right height, width and depth to allow unimpeded viewing, and brilliant protection for the "innards". A marvellous, inexpensive provider of "peace of mind".
