Product Description

Product Description

In the mid-80s Suma launched the UK's first 100% recycled paper toilet tissue. At the end of the 80s we launched the UK's first 100% Recycled Paper Kitchen Towel. Since then we've continued to develop the range. Our latest news is that our products now come in 100% compostable wrap, making our packaging sustainable, renewable, non-polluting and non-toxic. All ecoleaf paper products are made from 100% recycled fibre sourced exclusively within the UK, and with this jumbo option, your kitchen towel will last four times longer than a standard-sized roll.

I can't quite believe I'm reviewing toilet paper, but it really is fantastic. We were using Andrex under the delusion it was softer and made for happier bums. Turns out the bleach in standard toilet tissue is very irritating to understandably delicate skin. Also, it doesn't leave behind tiny pieces the way standard tissue can do. While it's not quite as soft, it's actually just soft enough and much more comfortable to use, with less wastage.

As someone else pointed out, the huge cores at the centre are a little silly but since you end up using less paper, we found that we don't replace the roll any more frequently than we did with standard paper.

I bought this loo paper in desperation! For many months I had been suffering with itching and had tried all kinds of remedies including one which put me in hospital on a drip! I didn't know what was causing my discomfort until I read several articles on 'netmums' describing similar issues and mentioning a branded toilet paper which I was also using. Apparently, many papers have bleach in them to make them white and this can cause an allergic reaction in many people - it is far more common than people realise. Anyway, I Googled 'bleach-free toilet paper' and this came up, so I thought, "In for a penny, in for a pound" and ordered four rolls. The moment I started using it all my problems disappeared overnight. I now have it on my 'spend and save' order once every two months and just hope they don't stop making it. It is a little thinner than ordinary paper, so you need to learn the best way to use it so as not to put your fingers through it, but it is also biodegradable, so fits in with my organic and environmental lifestyle! Would definintely recommend.

I hate to give any product of Suma a bad review, but this toilet paper had one big drawback. The center cardboard roll is very large, I would say the largest I have seen. Essentially trucks are transporting empty space up and down the country so that we can have an illusion of having toilet paper. The paper on the roll is not of any weight, and does not last.

I have a Saniflo loo which blocks if we use most kinds of 'toilet tissue' i.e. toilet roll made out of anything but pure paper. I hunted in the local supermarkets for anything labelled 'toilet paper' and found NOTHING! After a websearch, we came up with Ecoleaf, which dissolves and does not block the filter of the saniflo. It is more fragile than the kind of toilet tissue that one buys in the supermarket - getting greater strength is the reason for using toilet tissue made with synthetic fibres in it. However, it is ecologically sound and meets the requirements of our filter. That's good enough for me!

The toilet paper is of good quality, it lasts just as long as Andrex rolls and while perhaps marginally thinner, I think it's worth remembering what it is you do with this stuff - it's not going to be used more than once and it isn't meant for wrapping parcels.

It's far thicker than most other non-Andrex brands and far nicer than most recycled brands, and it has excellent green credentials.

My only complain is that this I first ordered this at 19.23 before subscribe and save discount it's now shot up to 23.06 and at over 51p a roll, I will be cancelling the subscription until things return to earth

Bit too thin and the rolls ran out too quickly - the inner cardboard tube is bigger then normal! Will go back to my normal recycled toilet paper.

I've marked these 3 stars but they really weren't my favourite, I think even Andres are better and they have got thinner over the years! These are thin and short lived! We went through many more of these than other brands we've used
