The BioBulb is claimed to be the closest replication of sunlight, and may improve mood, nighttime sleep, and day time energy. Daylight helps restore the body's natural rhythms and brings nourishment to body, mind and soul. The BioBulb radiates less heat and can last for an amazing 10,000 hours. They are flicker-free and with a colour rendering index of 85 are ideal for sufferers of S.A.D. This brand new 'BioBulb' has a full spectrum has increased to 380-780nm and the light output in lumens has increased to 1750 in the 100w and 1250 in the 60w.

Ecozone BioBulbs are not suitable for use in dimmer switches.

Manufacturer's Description

Daylight is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, daylight improves mood, night time sleep and daylight energy. Daylight helps restore the body's natural rhythms and brings nourishment to the body, mind and soul.

Bulb brightness is measured in degrees Kelvin. The higher the number, the closer to the full spectrum 6500K. Conventional bulbs are around 2500K to 3000K, and give a yellow light that distorts colour and tires the eyes.

The Ecozone Biobulb has been tested to produce 6400K, that's over twice as bright as a conventional bulb and, in addition, uses 75% less energy.

Ecozone BioBulbs are not suitable for use in dimmer switches.

My husband has recurant deppresions and sleep disorders so we use two of these powerfull bulbs in our living room, and he says it makes him feel "brighter", and i see that in his mood too, and he is wide-awake in the living room.

It also makes crystel and glass ornaments appear more crystaline, so we got two crystel chandeleers which look very pretty.

The only down side is that some people find two of these bulbs too much light to cope with.

These bulbs are not just another craft light-type bulb you really feel it is miday-sun type daylight.

This bulb is fantastic. Not everyone suffers with serious SAD in the winter, but everyone definitely gets the blues on with dark mornings, evenings and gloomy daytimes so this is a real boon. You'll be in a room with it on and think you should be outside enjoying the sunshine, only to look outside and realise it's dark and miserable because the light is so natural you forget you've got it on! Great if you set it on a timer and put it in your bedroom to come on just before your alarm goes off - helps with the winter blues that make you just want to stay in bed because it's so dark - also much cheaper than the specialist SAD alarm clocks which are very expensive, the only difference being they gradually increase the light. Great for reading by as it's a very white light and so emphasises the contrast of the letters against the page, without being stark or cold. You will believe this is daylight I guarantee it.
