Trenton Kingsley, the Duke of Broddington takes revenge on Baxter Caldwell by wrenching from him his beloved sister,Ariana, in a forced marriage. Ariana has been taught to fear and hate the duke since she was a child but is drawn to the enigmatic man who,she believes, murdered her sister. Ariana is compelled to solve the mystery of her sister's death in order for her to ever find true happiness and peace with Trenton. Aiding her is her faithful friend, Theresa,who possesses an intriguing gift, and Dustin Kingsley,Trenton's younger brother. However, the quest for the truth is fraught with deceit, mistrust and betrayal. Andrea Kane brings us a tale of a love which conquers all barriers and heals all the pain of yesteryears. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel because of the inner strength of the heroine who would not give up even if all the odds were against her, the hero who fought against the bitterness of the past to ensure a future which promised joy and happiness and the blessing of true friends who saw them through every situation,good and bad.

i enjoyed this book only because the dialogue between the h/h was sexy and some of the best ive read but the rest of the story was totally unrealistic totally give money to sb who had a hand in killing your father ????the sister being so evil unspeakably evil throughout the book and in the end does nothing makes no sense?! also i dont understand why since the guys brother was such a great guy why that whenever he was alone with the girl we were always left to believe he was about to kiss her also the bird and quote lady got on my nerves it had the bases for a great book if it didnt have the unrealistic senarios as if someone doesnt know when he has seen a ghost!but the words spoken by the guy especially in the beginning are some the sexiest ive read so for that reason i liked the fact i read it!

This has got to be one of Andrea Kane's best books! Characters are well and cleary defined. Trenton and Ariana are definitely made for each other! This book keeps you reading, and the ending seems to end too fast. You just want to keep reading what continues for the hero and heroine. You don't want to miss this one!

This book was well written. The characters are great and strong. Ariana is so honest and faithful. It is hard to find a book where the wife is the heroine. You must read Trenton's brother Dustin's story in Wishes in the Wind.

Ariana, forced to marry the man whom she has been led to believe was somehow to be blamed for her elder sister's apparent suicide 6 years before, is caught in a voltex of a devious and malicious deception. While Ariana is irresistibly drawn to her husband's passionate and gentle nature, she must resolve the mystery that shrouds the past in order to have a future together. And in uncovering the truth, it became apparent that her brother is involved in a nefarious scheme to exact the ultimate vengeance at the expense of her happiness.
