This is Grace and Rio's tale, and takes place not long after Shea and Nathan have made it to safety. It was pretty long, and was pretty much perfect, but after all that she'd gone through, what would have made it a total Keeper, would have been slightly more personal time for Rio and Grace. I totally appreciate why that didn't happen, though, IMHO, Grace deserved tenderness, time and healing through the love of a good, strong man, after all that she'd been through, but it was still excellent.
So, the amazon blurb tells pretty much all of the tale, but I need to mention the very hot, very romantic scene between Rio and Grace when they get together for their first time - sexy, hot, and just the lover that this wounded woman needed. There are twists to the tale, with a foe who gets what he deserves, and with a baddie who may not be as bad as he seems on the face of it, especially with the ending of this tale. In fact, the baddie, whilst I didn't like him at all until the end, seemed to redeem himself a tad, and in fact, I'm now thinking that we'll be seeing more of him, and that he may well get his own book. I mean, he's done something for Rio and Grace, and indirectly for Shea, which means that KGI is indebted to him...
There's also a double wedding about to take place in this tale, and yes, it's easy to guess who the couples are, but it's about time for them! We also get to see a new addition to the Kelly family, and we get to read the first few pages of Shades of Grey, the next KGI novel, which features two KGI agents as the leads, due out on 31/12/12. From the first few pages I read of that, it looks as if sparks will fly, and that that might end up one of the hottest reads of the series!
There is also a brief snippet of Exiled, due out next month, in the antho (with Lauren Dane) Cherished. Overall, this is one of MB's best books, and possibly, the best KGI novel so far.
