a much awaited text on neonatal echocardiography.,

This review is from: Echocardiography for the Neonatologist (Paperback)
This book has been much awaited as it has an exclusive neonatal perspective. Echocardiography for neonatologist takes the reader through basic ultrasound physics, followed by chapters with shunts, ductal flows, along with analysis of cyanotic neonates with and without structural cardiac diseases. The chapter on pulmonary pressure evaluation, valve regurgitations, and ecmo are other ingredients of this book. It is an easy to read text with profuse illustrations thus it is both an atlas and a textbook.

This review is from: Echocardiography for the Neonatologist (Paperback)
These days, neonatologists must be able to utilize ultrasonography and echocardiography to diagnose and treat their infant patients. Sometimes this may be an urgent, emergency need. In some venues, subspecialists may not be immediately available to image the abdomen, chest, or heart when this information is vital to the patient's well-being. It's interesting to me that this text is not available in the United States.
In addition, courses to teach neonatologists to utilize these modalities exist in England and Australia, but not in the U.S.; obviously a medico-political turf situation between neonatology, cardiology and radiology exists in the U.S. that is impeding efforts by U.S. neonatologists to acquire these skills. This text instructs in the fundamentals of echocardiography that are important to the practice of neonatology.

This review is from: Echocardiography for the Neonatologist (Paperback)
As a practising Paediatrician, I find diagnosing congential heart diseases in newborn a challenge. This book has a evidence based step by step guide. The authors have done an excellent job in making this book easy to read and understand. I feel this book is an essential guide to Paediatric Cardiologist or Neonatologist in training.
