Echo is one of the singles from the Sky Motel. Not that I'm a dedicated Kristin Hersh fan or Throwing Muses fan but this was typically good stuff from her. A couple of the original Muses members play with Kristin on this track (and the B-side tracks) so I guess that explains the familiar sound. If you have the album, this might be worth it for the cover of Nirvana's Pennyroyal tea. I really liked the version here which is quite close to Kurt Kobain's version in Unplugged in New York and has the same painful wail of the chorus but this time ala Kristin Hersh. The final track Everybody's got something to hide (a cover from the beatles) didn't particularly appeal to me but it's definitely Kirstin Hersh kind of music of old.

Kristin Hersh a female Kurt Kobain ? ... possibly except that Kristin was around way before Nirvana.
